Hello,
I am a trained therapist with a psychodynamic perspective, holding a solid academic background that includes both bachelor's and master's degrees in psychology, as well as further education in existential therapy.
My passion lies in helping people explore and understand the underlying dynamics of their life story and inner world - what hurts, what carries, opportunities and obstacles, passions, and the will to create; all of this is deeply intertwined with both the societal structure and the personal history. I am of the opinion that it is difficult to separate what happens on the outside from what happens on the inside. Therefore, the environment, people, and places are of great importance to one's life.
In my work I use a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical techniques from psychodynamic therapy as well as elements from existential therapy. My approach is primarily psychological; however, I am also deeply involved with questions of existence. Through philosophical investigations of existence, there is the possibility of moving more freely in the world, and within oneself. This integrative stance enables a profound understanding of current as well as long-standing psychological issues, both from the past and in the present, and helps in creating a direction toward a meaningful future.
If you feel stuck, are searching for the meaning of your life, or want to understand yourself and your relationships better, you are most welcome to contact me for an initial conversation.
I receive patients who speak Swedish, English and Turkish.
Warm welcome,
Melis Demircan
